trim removal, need help please!

In my gen4 camry, I want to remove the piece around the shifter, but it seems it's attached to another piece in front of it.

Here are some pics to show what i'm talking about:

How do I go about removing this?

Thanks a lot

I dunno....

That appears to be a trim that just pops out...

I think if you pry the edges gently with a flathead screwdriver, it will give.

Anyone else?

A small flathead should do it, and I'd wrap the end of the screwdriver in masking tape so you don't slip and leave a huge gouge in that trim!

yo grapefruit, how'd you get the piece in the middle of the dash out. The piece that has the two vents and the hazard light buttone. I've been trying to get that piece out, but it feels like it's bolted in somewhere and i don't wanna break it.

as far as for the two pieces you were talking about, I'm not sure if it is one piece or not, but i couldn't get that out either. it's such a pain in the ass, but i think i'll try one more time with the flathead and see if i can pry it out.

Yo that piece is a bitch to get out, i got it half way out so it is possible, i wasnt ready to paint it at the time so i didnt take it out

Pry at it with a flat head screw driver, but first remove the piece around the ac controls radio etc

its all one piece the plastic and the lil carpet area

let me know how it goes, and for the hazards which i have to do, u need to remove your radio and then put ur hand in to get to that piece, thats what i have heard i will be trying that in a few weeks once scholls over

i tried to look for a haynes manual, but neither PepBoys nor R&S had it for my gen camry. weird.

basically, i need to relocate my O/D button, because the shift knob i bought doesn't have it. if i can remove the trim that is.. i don't want to break anything..

yea, ill probably do it when school's over. Only a week and a half left. i should really be studying for finals too
