I have a 5sfe engine with 345,000kms on it. Would it be harmful to start using SYNTECHTIC OIL???

Thanks

General rule.. if your eng is over 70 000 KM, don't switch .. that's what I've heard.. well it really depends..

if you have any cracks on your valve seals, etc.. if you switch to synthetic, you run the risk of causing a leak.. cause you konw how synthetic oil cleans the eng and generally runs cleaner than dyno oil.. it will clean out all the gunk that might be pluggin the cracks on the seals.. and you will have a leak.. that's what I've heard.. I'm running mobil 1 synthetic on my 01 with 50k km's with no problems.

I am unsure, but I wouldn't switch over cause your engine has high km's.. it's just my opinion however, wait until more ppl post about this.
