help........ my car has no speed.......

hi every1, i was driving home last nite @ 2am, and all the sudden the stupid cluster went like crazy, it was reading 100mph while i was only driving about 30~40mph (for sure not over 60mph), the cluster lights r gone, inside the cluster is dead or fu*ked............ i think i need to change grab another one off junk yard...... so yeah, does any1 know how to take the cluster out?? and will the meter going to reset??? or is it just some short circuit inside the cluster????

Pick up a Chilton manual at a local auto parts store. That will show you how to take out the cluster (you have to remove the dash as far as I know). Just make sure to use the same odometer. If you change it, and ever sell the car, you can be arrested for setting back the miles on your car.

what yr and mileage you got, i have a old cluster in my house off a 99 that i didnt need, was gonna use a piece off it but didnt need it

Not to be dumb, but you did check the fuse, right? You may have had some kind of short then blew a fuse.

i tried change the fuse, n it blown again, so i am guessing some short cct somehow inside..........rite now, i took the fuse out, coz i dun wanna the cluster to blow up while i am driving
