Exclamation More power needed, need help!

I have got a drag lined up in two days time and need as much power as i can get.

Does anyone know of any tricks to squeeze and more power from the 5f-se?

its nice to see another guy from down-under on TN
assuming your car is completely stock, fill it with PULP (i suggest Shell Optimax - 98RON ), and use the ECT button if you have it, (trust me, it makes a difference). Maybe getting a K&N Replacement Air Filter might help.
but other than that, unless you are willing to do something major within the next few days , i dont see what else you could do.
good luck

sorry i dont
my car is more or less completely stock
have you tried asking some of the performance shops around where you live? they should be able to give you a fairly good idea on what you can do.

PS: before anyone says something, it is 5S-FE not 5F-SE.

Theres a little button that says search above. It does wonders

Not much of a chance you going to have time to do anything that will make a huge difference in 2 days.

Do some searches crossing your engine with turbo, or super charge, CAI, etc.

Lately we have had too many people using the general question of "how do I get more power?" It's pretty abused by now.

(Not trying to be mean or anything)

quick hookups can be short ram or CAI. otherwise you're looking into long term work.

fabricate a short ram

advance timing like 4 degrees

Isn't this like the third time you have asked about "race tuning" the 5sfe? And why are setting up drag races with a 3rd gen 4cyl Camry? It's a damn heavy family car with a economy 4 cyl! You are going to lose unless you are racing a metro or something. You want speed quick? Throw a 300 shot of NAWWWS on there. I guarantee you will make it down the street first. You just might not make it back.

here's a few tips:

1) lighten weight, take out seats, spare tire, whatever else you can. diet for a day or two

2) don't run with a full tank of gas (related to the weight issue) usually a 1/4 is used

3) rims over 17" and performance don't mix, go back to steelies if you have to. sticky tires if you can

do all of the above for weight savings

also do an oil change, possibly a tranny flush as well if you're due for one

change you spark plugs and spark plug wires

Advance your timing a few degrees (don't go overboard on this!)

fab up a CAI or if you dont' have enough time then just get a cone filter and bolt that on real quick.

That seems like pretty much all you can do in a day or two.

If thats not enough for you and you really wanna do a semi-serious mod that you can do in a day or two they have this little nitrous "Cheater system" its like a 35shot i think and it is the simplest system to bolt on. Check it out

two words,

short shifting

practice that, shifting is more important than any minor mod
