A/C filter

I am new to Toyota, but a few months back I purchased a 2003 Camry. I understand there is a filter inside the car thatis supposed to filter the air or something along that line. Could someone tell/show me where this is and how to change it? Is it available aftermarket or only at the dealership?

Many thanks......DD

there is an air filter in a box on the drivers side f the engine bay. there is a 2.5inch black hose running from the box o the throttle boddy.

how long ago did you get your car? the air filter might not need to be replaced.

I know about the air filter under the hood. I one I am talking about is like some particulate filteration for the air inside the car. The maintenance schedule calls for it to be changed every 5000 miles and I do not want to have to pay the dealership a crazy price to do so.........anyone else??

it's the engine air filter, there is also cabin air filter that's behind your glove box
you can get aftermarket engine air filter from site like
http://www.brandsport.com/toyota.html
it's about $50

by the way, if you sign up for their newsletter, each month they send you a code and you get 10% off
Prices are generally OK

Open your glove box. There is a screw on the right-side, near the door. Take the screw out. Push in the sides of the glove box and it should fold down. Once the glove box is down, there is a white/clear tray behind the glove box. Pop the tray out, there is your filter. I replace my filter about every 10k miles. It varies depending on driving conditions. The Toyota Part # is 87139-YZZ05. It used to be 87139-32010.
