Hey everyone, i have a 2000 4 (5fse) cylinder camry. I wanted to know if there is a slip differential for this model car. trying to find one but i haven't been very succesful, any info, please post. THANX!!!!!!!!
wait doesn't every car have limited slip differential? its purpose is to save some tread during the turning and cornering right? i've had my car jacked up before while driving in gear and the right front wheel seems to be spinning a whole lot faster than the left.
well, my main idea was i wanted to know if when my model camry does a brunout, does it leave burnout marks from just one tire, or do both of them spin???

well for my 4-cyl auto 1994 Camry. It only does one wheel
because i spun the wheels a fair bit before on grass and only one wheel was covered in grass.......thus saying only that wheel was spinning......but im not too sure if you can spin both at the same time though.....
that would be fun though
I'm 90% sure that you can put an after market LSD for the 1mz or 3s-gte.

And why would that be? Cuz he wants better handling? It doesn't matter how many cylinders you have if you want better handling...
*waiting for rebuttle*

The LSDs will not fit the 5sfe trannys. They only work with the v6 tranny. Because its the same as the tranny from an mr2. That is why it is so available... if it were just for a camry, it would not be there.
Yukio, sorry, i agree with the other dude about i4 not needing an LSD. i mean if you have a turbo or supercharger and want to get all that power to the ground, it would be nice... but in that case i hope you would upgrade the tranny anyways to a v6 tranny. custom clutch kit with mixed parts to match the tranny and engine, v6 conversion for axles, hub, and brakes... normally with a stock 5sfe, the wheels are going to be spinning all too much ya know...

Well, it's probably for power transfer. When you go into the corner on the street or track, balls out, the power is going to transfer to one wheel or other without an LSD. Whether you have 350hp or 150hp, you're going to have to have equal power transfer to handle right.
Look at the 4a-ge AE86 Corollas drifting into high speed corners. A lot of them DON'T need gobs of power to have an LSD.
The main concern is whether you have equal power transfered. Now if it comes to Drag racing which I am assuming you are refering to, then maybe an LSD is questionable. But for road track or street handling, LSD has no Bias towards horsepower.
