name this part...

I was changing my brake pads and rotors yesterday when I broke something. I broke the head off the bolt of the bracket that holds the brake pads in.

I tried drilling and tapping but that thing is stuck in there. I managed to get the others out by using an impact.

What is that bracket called? Should I just go to the junkyard for it or buy a new one?

It's called a caliper bracket. Yeah you can get one at a junkyard.

I called the local auto parts store and they want $30 for it.

sounds about right. Call the dealer to see how much it cost there. The one from the autoparts store will work. Don't forget to get that caliper bolt replaced as well.

Are those bolts hardened? I'm assuming that I should use antiseize right?

You have to get grade 8 or better. Use just a little anti-sieze. On the caliper guide bolts(the ones the caliper slides on) use some silicone lube.

that is a dealer for you, almost always go with the parts store
