Ok guys i am almost done clearing out my headlights. Yes it is a very tedious prcoess which requires patience (more than you think). But its almost done and i can't wait for the results. In thinking ahead I am thikning about providing this service to the guys here on the forum. now there area few options. Please let me knwo how much you are willing to pay for the follwoing things:
*This applies for all Gen Camrys since its the same procedure*
1. Full Clear Headlight Assembly (x2) w/ exchange - I send you clear headlights including bracket and everything and you send me back your headlights (providing they are not yellow)
2. Full Clear Headlight Assembly (x2) w/ brand new housings - I send you clear headlights including bracket, brand new, and you keep it
3. Clear Lens (x2) w/ exchange - I send you a set of clear lenses, you heat up your headlight take off the stock one and return to me your stock set, once again provided that they are not yellow.
4. Clear Lens (x2) - I send you a set of clear lenses
*Also wanted to clear up that there will be no down time for you without headlights since I send you the lights first and then you send your lights back if that was our agreement.*
Let me know what you guys think good prices for those options would be. Remeber to factor in costs of new headlights if your'e doing the options wihtout exchange, and also that one headlight takes almost a full day.
Luis

Well, a headlight assembly cost about $60 on eBay. So I'd pay around $25.00-$30.00USD for some clear lenses(shipping included maybe?). I assume they cost less then that. But there is also some pay for all the work your doing.
I don't think I would really want an all new assembly. Just the lenses.

each lense takes a full day of sanding by hand. i don't think i'd be willing to sell two clear lense for $25. that would mean i would have to sit in my house for two full days for $25.

Even though I don't have a Gen3 here are some, IMHO, reasonable prices based on what I've seen as well as what I know from experience:
1) Labor only - $100
2) $180 ($100 labor, $80 pair of lenses)
3) $70 labor
4) $130 ($70 labor, $60 lenses [unless Luis gets the lenses itself from somewhere, no one sells it individually])
To me, those are fairly reasonable prices. To those who think this is expensive, think of the difference as goodwill to the Camry community For those who think it's cheap, excellent!

Thanx, those prices seem more reasonable, hopefully people agree. Oh and for option #2 its not just new lenses, its two whole new headlight assemblies, just so no one gets confused.

Yeah, I understand it's low. I just don't think it is worth $100+. There are a lot of other things that money could be spent on. But it's cool. Hope it works out for you.

yea projectors or HID are the lights that are meant to work best with thsi setup. Someone posted up pics of just regualre headlights with clear lenses and it wasn't too bad as long as you adjust your headlights and point them downward, so it doesn't look like you have your high beams on.
but the best setup would be with projectors or HIDs
