How to clean the 2.4L 2az-fe throttle body?

I've heard that this engine's TB dirtys easily due to oil contamination from the bypass hose. Pic here shows the poor design. Oil escaping the air bypass will easily flow downwards to the TB. There is absolutely nothing to catch the escaping oil. Now at 14,000km, Im experiencing rough idle, and I suspect it's due to a dirty TB. Can I just remove the intake hose and spray carb cleaner into the TB? Does the engine need to be running while I spray? Will it hurt the CAT or 02 sensors?

(With the engine off) Remove intake hose, spray TB cleaner into TB and make sure you have a cleaner that won't harm the sensors. A toothbrush would probably do you some good too...

My Gen5 has 38,000 and it looks like this! when I first removed the intake end on the throttle body oil just poured out. Toyota says this is normal, still fighting with the dealership I got to go back in 500 Miles

I mananged to pick up a spray can of throttle body cleaner (water based), so I started to take apart my intake hose. First I started with my bypass hose. To my surprise it was amazingly clean! No oil, no sludge, no nothing! I rubbed my fingers through it and it was clean as a whistle. I also used a tissue and found no trace of oilyness whatsoever. Pic here. Then I proceeded to remove the intake hose to examine the throttle body. And this time, it was no surprise, it was also clean as a whistle! Pic here. That is one spankingly clean looking throttle plate. So I guess my theory of oil dirtying the TB thru the bypass hose is wrong. I also decided to take a look at the PCV valve. I disconnected that hose and found oil there. Pic here. Not a lot of oil though, the dipstick doesnt seem to move and I never need to add any make-up oil. The PCV valve hose is connected directly to the intake manifold, so the oil will never get anywhere close to the TB. So I guess it must be normal for the intake manifold to be oily. If the oil makes it's way into the intake valves and cc, it cant be very good, can it? Im going to try some fuel system cleaner next to see if cleaning up the intake valves and combustion chamber helps the rough idling.

Is it a good idea to add an oil catch tank to the PCV hose? Will it mess up the vehicles PCV system? I was thinking something like this.
