Silverstar 9005 Harness

Hello everyone

I've modified the sylvania silverstar 9005 and ready to install but I need some feedback regarding the following.

The bulbs are rated 65watts and at 12volts this would give a current of 5.4 amps.

Current(I) = Power(P)/Voltage(V)

Will the wiring harness handle this current for a indefinite period of time or will there be damage such as melting?

This forum has indicated that the harness will handle 65 watts safely therefore I tend to believe this is true since the actual high beam has the same gauge wire as the low beam gauge wire and toyota spec their 9005hb at about the 65 watt range more like 60 or 63 watts.

Is their anyone that had problems with this 9005 silverstar 65 watts in regards to creating damage to their harness on a 2001 camry or camparable camry harness?

What is the gauge wire on the harness?

Knowing the gauge then the max. current rating for that gauge wire can be determined by the wire/current chart.

I could always purchase a harness at www.suvlights.com but I would rather not if it is not needed.

I need your help, THX.
