Pics from the past month (56k suicide)

So here it is... built 1MZ-FE...

These are pictures from the last month.. Most recent picture was from last week Currently, the Camry is almost ready with a couple of things left to do (some fuel lines and turbo piping)

The build-up begins...

.
.
.
.
And the rest is machine work and engine assembly....

Bare Block and ARP hardware:

.
.
.
.
.
.
Shortblock:

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Assembled:

Ported Lower Intake Manifold -- matched with ports of course

Ported heads:

.
.
.
.
.
.
Motor Ready to go in:

.
.
.
.
.
Engine dropped in

.
.
.
.
More photos coming later next week There should be photos of basically every installed in the car. I might get some videos of initial start-up as well

Anyway, there are some questions I will not provide an answer to:

- brand name of pistons and rods
- Cost

Keep you guys posted for future progress

Mmmmmm

shiny

Out of curiosity, what break-in method are you using? The slow and steady for 500 miles or the hard and fast for 30 miles?

Hmm, in Canadian units I guess that'd be 800km and 50km So which is it?

I've been wondering myself whether the hard and fast for 30 miles break-in method is a valid one. I read about it on some mechanics website about breaking in motorcycles. It just seems so outta whack ya know what I mean? For years they tell us to do it slow and easy for the first 1000 miles and then there's this new thing where they say to ride it hard for the first 20-30 miles.

BTW Tony, HOT DAMN. Those pistons look awesome. How the hell d'you get the block so clean??? -drool- If only I had the money I'm currently spending to go to college on my 5SFE, then maybe I'd actually learn a thing or two by doing crazy shit like that to my car.
