Sup yall,
Was thinking about getting a tint job and was wondering where a good place to take it would be. How much did your tint cost and what percent is the tint? What about that reflective looking tint, dont want it looking like mirrors though =)
you'll have to find out the local laws as to how much you can tint your windows. IMO the best looking ones are getting all the [side] windows done the same % and the back one a bit darker, maybe the same.
if you're taking it to a shop, they should know the laws if you live close to them
I used a local shop (Ziebart) to get my tinting done. Came with a life time warranty. They knew exactly what the laws were. I am in Ontario and the rules were:
Front Window - could only put a 5% strip across the top of the window.
Side Front Windows - 35% max.
Read Side Windows - 5% max.
Rear window - 5% max.
I went with 20% on the rear windows simply because at night 5% is to dark. 5% is typically limo level of tinting.
I used a local shop (Speedworld) to get my tinting done. Darkest tint was 5%...they really didn't care about the laws. I had my Camry tinted at 20% all-around except the windshield, which they asked me if I wanted tinted too, but didn't.

I paid $130 for my tint. I got 18% on all my windows except for the windshield, I have a big strip that's 18% too that helps keep the sun out of my eyes

I believe it was $165 for the 4 side windows and the back window, but I had my alarm installed there the same day (since it had to be there for about 6 hrs for the tint) and the bill was just under $400 for the tint, alarm & installation.

there's this one place in westchester, NY that was asking for like $300 for all 4 windows and rear. I thought that was ridiculous and didn't even think twice about going there.

Can't tint the front windows in Cali.
I suppose I could do a light tint on the front windows and get away with it, but screw that. If I tint the front windows, I'd want the same shade (20%) all around.
