Well I know this has been asked before...but after geting my Enkei 5+ 17x7 rims and Yoko 215/50-17s I am loving the setup on my 2001 Solara SE...but it of course needs to be dropped. I know that if you buy the TRD springs and have a dealer install them...you should be able to keep the full factory warranty. Now if I get...lets say Eibach or B&G...besides voiding the stock strut warranties....do I run into trany coverage problems as well? I'm curious of you guy's experiences...any major problems or arguments with Toyota? Thanks in advance.

The only real person that can answer this Q. for you is the dealer itself, since they are the one honouring the warranty. Now we all know what they're answers gonna be  unless they are REALLY nice ppl, which I highly doubt.
Your only real choice is to go ahead and slam the car and when/if there are problems related to suspesion (which is unlikely) be prepared to get the run around or just swap the parts out before visiting the dealer.
Tmanana, great to hear you got those rims on there, I just got my tax refund and thinking of dropping it on rims and tires, but I should pay off credit card GRRR !!
Anyway for sure drop your supension, besides making it look a lot better, the handling is so much nicer. I just dropped mine a month ago.
All I can say it's up to your dealer. The place that installed my Eibach pro kit and KYB struts, messed up my ABS sensors in the rear two tires. Lucky my dealership is soooo freaking cool and replace both costing $800 but they said it was covered under my warrenty even though they saw my after market struts. I got LUCKY !!
just whoever does your installation make sure they know what they are doing, as for the parts, you shouldn't have any problems, unless you do a hard slam like over a 1.6'' drop then you might have to get a camber correction kit. Make sure after you drop it, put about 500 miles on it, let everything settle then have your alignment checked
How can we know of a problem like you faced (ABS sensor) after Installation of aftermarket struts & springs ?
Thanks.
Your ABS light will go on. Your brakes will still work, but there is a big chance your ABS will not work if needed. The senors are what tell the piston in the caliper to fire if needed. What happend when the took the backs off they ruined the sensors. There is a TBS out there about solara's and being careful with those back sensors.
What pissed me off was the guys at the store try to tell me everything was "fine" and they usually have that problem when they drop toyotas. Well when I took it to my dealershipt to get looked at is when I found out the sensors were broken. Just lazy, stupid installers. Luckly a guy LUC who is out on this Forum alot lives in Chicago, and was able to explain all this to me and help me out. THIS is my HUGE Plug for how great this Forum is !
Well just went to a local Toyota dealership...the one that actually runs Toyotaparts4u.com...and could pick up the TRD springs w/o shipping..which is nice. However, after asking the whole garage the dealership quoted 500.00 to install...which I think is crazy. Going to call the rest of the dealerships to see if this is the going rate. I know I can get it installed for as low as 150.00 at a local speed shop...just worried about that whole warranty issue. Any advice? Thanks for the replies BTW...all help is appreciated!

If you really want to have someone other than the deal to install, be completely honest with them and say "look, I've been told that the ABS sensors are VERY fragile, can you install and gaurantee (in writing) that the ABS sensor will be replaced with genuine Toyota parts free of labour if they are damaged." If they agree, them go aheas with caution (courts and lawyers needed to enforce contract). If your not comfortable with that, stick with the dealer or drive up here to T-lex and Basil will take care of you
