You probably unhooked one of the connections for the MAF sensor. Seeing that you have no idea what happened, I wouldn't advise you on how to reset the check engine light. Just take it to a mech.

I saw on some guys site that there was a little 1/4 inch house hanging there. He said it connected to the oem air box. What her suggested was to cut a hole in the steel tubbing and stick the hose in there. Wont the intake loose its performance. He had a 96 i4 camry with turbo

Take it to the loca autozone or whatever and get them to run an OBD II scan, they do it for free from what I heard, also make sure that the mafs is selaed tightly, u might even wanna try and lubricate the o-ring with a bit of vasolin so that no air gets by, take a pic and post the hose thats left loose the guys could probably tell you what its for.

If you wanna get rid of the check light because you know you did something wrong then unhook the battery for about 5 minutes, you will lose your preset stations and stuff but the light will go off as long as you have fixed your MAF sensor
