Question sunroof?

So i'm looking to get an aftermarket sunroof for my gen 3 camry this summer because im too lazy/cheap/paranoid to buy another with one... so that being said... tips?

If anyone could give me suggestions on where i can find kits, what I should be looking for, and any other useful info (ie leaks, etc) that would be great.. thanks guys

Go to your local auto glass/window shop. They might do it. Last year I went to tint my windows and that shop installed sunroofs, for about 500 bucks I think.
I'm not sure how you going to do it your self though, you'd have to cut out the opening (you're installing a new one right?).
Hope this helps.

Right now there is a guy on ebay selling a gen 3 sunroom. Do a search.

hey camrymax

you said a window tint shop installed aftermarket sunroofs for $500? That seemed kinda low...is that for a basic, non-electric sunroof? Because when i asked before for an electric sliding one, they quoted me for $1400!! (that's after tax). I really want a sunroof, but can't afford $1400...but $500...that's a different story

To be honest with you I'm not sure what kind it was. That was long time ago, I remember well that when I was waiting there for my tint they had bunch of sunroofs on the display, I'm 100% sure they were about $500 bucks, but I can't recall if they were atomatic or not. My best guess is, you should shop around more try different areas in the city or something, and look around online if you can buy one and let the shop install it.
Good luck man!
I wish I had a sunroof too but idea of installing it never occured to me before

ok to get back to everyone...

-I'm def. not doing it myself so im not worrying about cutting the roof or anything....

-yes i did check ebay and i actually saw a gen 3 sunroof for 60 bucks! Does anyone think that a shop can install it... safely and with no leaks?

-Cali Style Sunroof! I'd love to do something like that... is there a place i could find parts for something like this or would I pretty much have to do it myself? Cuz I'm sorta looking for something like that...

-As for automatic... I'm not really sweating that because I'm not interested in a sunroof that'll be worth as much as the car lol. Well, not quite but 1500 would be a big chunk... and I'm totally fine with just putting the top in the trunk or something..

Any links would still be greatly appreciated... thanks guys for all your comments
