'98/V6 ; Front dogbone, but what else?

All,

I noticed that the rubber on my front engine dogbone (passenger side) is splitting so I think it's time to replace. What else should I do myself?

There's a "shock" looking thing on the front but I'm afraid that's under pressure and doesn't look easy to replace. There's also a rubber-ish mount on the front, below the oil filter that. Should I mess with either of these?

typically you should replace the front motor mount along with the dogbone. its not too hard to do your gonna have to jack up the motor to get it out.

Thanks for the response.

Is that the shock-absorber looking thing or the urethane bushing below the oil filter?
