91 Camry 4cly (no AC) radiator fan not working

Hey guys,
Hoping to find some help here. I'm currently borrowing this car while mine is getting fixed. Noticed the car getting hot the other day and saw the fan was not coming on even though the needle was touching the red. Found some post about this kind of problem but need a lil more help.

Some details...I've checked and topped off coolant and oil, as title says car has no AC but if the temp is set to cold the car heats up quicker and when I do turn on the heat the needle drops but then slowly starts coming up again.

I've seen some ppl say you can disconnect the fan switch/sensor to force the fan to come on but unfortunantly I have had problems finding just where this switch/sensor actually is.

Also I've seen others talk about connecting the fan direct and was hoping for some help as to how to do that.

I'm not afraid to dive into the car to fix it myself but just hoping for some help as to where to start. Thanks for any help!

UPDATE:
Bought a Haynes manual and found the switch and fan ran with it disconnected. Looks like it may b a bad thermostat since the lower radiator hose was still cold. Gonna try to replace it and see how it goes
