would the climate control of say, an es300, fit into the same location as in a camry? they should have the same harness since they are both toyota parts, right?

I think they are different on 2.2 and 3.0 but I am not 100% sure so it first depends on your Camry type. I would be quite astonished they would be exactly the same plus not only electrical harness need to be the same, cables too, and they all have to have exactly the same functions. Your best bet is to go to a junkyard where you can dismantle it yourself and see.

No. Climate control panels in camrys (at least Gen 4 - your website page says you have a 1999) are rectangular. Climate controls in 97-01 ES300s are not the same shape. They are more of a trapazoid shape. Plus, I don't think you can go from manual to automatic. The automatic system uses sensors and crap that cars not originally equipped don't have. (my dealer told me an exchange was not possible)
