9.3 kms per liter a good average?

Is 9.3 kms/liter a good average in terms of petrol consumption for a 2.4 VVTi engine?

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

I don't know about that engine but it seems a bit much to me. My 1992 2.2 (5sfe) runs a little bit more than 10 km/l and I guess since your engine is more recent it shouldn't consume more fuel (even if it is a little bit more powerful). How do you drive ?

Ok, here's what I have from mostly guessing. I get 20miles to the gallon.

1 gallon = 4 liters so I am getting 5 miles to the liter.
3000feet = km. and 5280 feet in a mile.
5280/3000= 1.7km=1mile

So I am getting 8.8km/l And I have a 1992 V6. So yeah, that seems a little low for mileage.

I average around 24mpg (10.2km/l) on my '92 5sfe with mixed highway/city driving (mostly highway).

Fuel economy calculator - Displays MPG, k/l and l/100km.

Well, I drive my 1998 4cyl. mostly Highway 125 km each day (130km/h though).... including a section of grid lock (approximately 15 minutes idling every day). I fill up my car about once every 10 days or so.

I recently (17 May 2004 got 9.7 km per liter on my 2.2l driving with 'modern' snow tires still, overinflated, by 10% but still below 40psi cold.

If I drive at 105 km/h the car can go further, but I still haven't found the optimum speed yet for distance. Plus a set of tires with less rolling resistance would help

i can get about 10km/ltr with my v6, and i stick as close as i can to the speed limit and not taking people off the lights.

so 9.3km/l is a little low for a 4 banger as mentioned before. you should be getting close to 10-12km/ltr for a 4 banger.

it also depends on the road condition and the times in which you drive, ie peak hour, up hilly roads etc
