by delay, you mean that when you press the gas, the car seems like it doesn't want to move, until a split second later, or something completely different?
I've heard of older cars doing something like that, where I think (don't quote me on this) there was a tiny bit of slack in the throttle cable. But then that's an old car and you drive a Gen5, right?
as for the shifting betweem 2-2.5K RPMs, that's normal. The car won't always shift at the same RPM, and as you continue to drive I believe that shift point will change. I know that happened to my Gen3, where when I first started driving it would shift in that range, but after driving differently (and harder), it tends to shift at 3K RPMs.
