Unhappy foggy film on windshield

every once in awhile my windshield will get this odd foggy film on the interior surface. it only happens on the drivers side (i generally ride solo) but it isnt simply some morning dew. defrosting doesnt work, and it will happen at odd times of the day. ive wiped them with every cleaner i can think of till there isnt a streak visible...help?

ive used windex (untinted windows), eagle one cleaner and a bunch of other specific windshield cleaners.. the fogginess wipes away with regular cloth and the cloth isnt discolored or anything.. its just a pain whiping it.. and it looks bad.

The same thing happens to me, a lot.

It happens during the morning, at night or when it's raining.

Ive heard the the dashes themselves are what is causing the film on the inside of the windows. I used to get it alot more in my '88 supra. But my 99 camry gets it too but not as bad as the '88. Also it depends on what you use to clean the dash. You want to clean it with some kind of cleaner that wont leave it very glossy. Also dash covers help prevent this.

Also try using newspapers when cleaning the windows.

you have a v6 94...is it leaking oil? from around the cam covers?
If it is, its probably hitting the headers and smoking, your airvent intake is right above it and sucking it straight into your cabin. If you have your vent set to suck in outside air, you are drawing in the oil fumes and with defroster mode selected, blowing it on the inside of your windscreen. New gaskets, turn off your outside airvent and switch your inside vents to blow somewhere else.
Post if this fixes it.

either that or.......are you reusing towels that you have washed?

if so......and if you used fabric softiner...thats it

fabric softiner will streak windows even if the towel feels "dry"

I have just bought a 2011 Camry and noticed a film on my windshield, too. It's disturbing. No amount of windshield wiping or use of windshield spray will get rid of it. I am going to notify my dealer and if he can't solve the problem, I'm going to demand that he take back the car.

I've had amazing results with Invisible Glass Cleaner. It's available at retailers everywhere.
