WILL THIS WORK ON A 2000 4CYL CAMRY? LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE ONE AT TRDSOURCE.COM

The throw isn't much shorter at all than stock, and it is bent toward the passenger (designed for JDM?) so I decided not to use it. If you want modify it, it would work great as a custom one. I plan to shorten/straighten the shaft next time I have access to the proper tools.
It certainly looks like it. The stock MR2 Spyder shifter looks exactly like the stock gen4 shifter but bent the other way since the shifter base is mounted backwards (cables toward rear). Since that one is straight I see no problems.
I might be the guniea pig if I ever get my swap done.
I haven't actually verified it, but I'm certain enough that it will fit that I'll buy it and try it out for you guys when the time comes.
My transmission is at a friends house waiting to be shipped to me tomorrow, so hopefully, if all goes well, I'll have it in by the end of next week. I probably won't be getting the shifter until next paycheck so I can be sure that I get the swap done with money left over.
Hey Zoni, did you ever get a new shifter base? I would assume so since you're part of this discussion.
nah, i sorta adapted my older celica shifter base to work... its still not good but it works for now. im waiting for meisner to come down to CT to sell me his... his brother lives like 10 minutes away from me...
I just tried the cheap Corolla one that toyotaholic posted, and it fits the gen4 base just fine. I cut it and will have it rewelded even shorter though, since it was maybe 1/8" shorter than the stock gen4 shifter. It'll be about 2 1/2" shorter now
The other thing to consider with that shifter is that the shafts are welded to the ball (factory is press fit), so the weld may limit the range of motion if you don't grind the high spots down a little.
sorry to change the topic, but i need a new clutch since the one i have right now sux like shit, any recommendations? also, what effect would a short shifter have on my car?
