uh-oh.. check engine lite came on..

a lil after i left my house before hitting the highway i noticed the check engine lite came on... got off the next exit and saw my intake manifold and the filter both disconnected (the filter from the manifold and the manifold from the TB.) i immediately reconnected everything back to it's usual manner but still notice the check engine lite on..

anyone have suggestions as to why this may be? can i reset it?

I don't know about your model but perhaps resetting the ecu would do ...

gonna try disconnecting the battery terminals today... but after i bring it to Autozone to scan for the problem.

i have no clue how it came apart. i parked it up my block (usually don't park there) and luckily i checked under the hood... i was going to keep driving and check it when i got to my destination.

Just disconnect the battery to reset the system. It won't go off immediately.

I read that if the car runs through so many cycles without that error coming up again, the light will shut off by itself. I got that out of my Haynes manual.

disconnect the battery negative terminal. put key in the ignition and switch it to on position. Hold for 90sec... Take key off ignition reconnect battery terminal and that should reset your ecu and you'll have to drive it slow for awhile ... Because your ecu would have to re-learn everything...

the ecu will reset if you take the 15Amp EFI fuse out for 15 seconds and put it back in.
