Oil Change w/o jacking up car?

Is anyone here able to change their oil w/o jacking up the car? I was poking around today around the bottom front of the car and was able to easily reach the oil drain plug and the underside of the car in general. Maybe it's because I'm skinny? haha I would think that draining it while level would get a larger portion of the old oil out... correct?

My car is lowered and I can still change my oil without jacking her up. As long as you've got a shallow pan to catch the oil you shouldn't have to jack up the car

As for getting the most oil out...I change oil on a warm engine.

Well the drain plug on the 2AZ is situated that it'd drain the most out with the car on an incline...but you can't really reach it anyways unless you jack it up.

Some of the old 4 cylinders I'm sure you could do without jacking it up.

yeah you can change it without jacking it up... provided the pan you use is low enough... thats the problem usually... my car is so low i cant fit the pan under the car. not even under the front support. so to change my oil i have to put it on jackstands... i wanna build a shed to work on my car with a basement so i can just make a hole in the floor. think about that, drive the car in, its a permenent lift! there would be basement doors in the rear of the shed and you just go right under the car! how cool would that be...

I actually seen some guy build a ramp out of 2x4 and other scrap wood. He would drive his car up on the ramp and work on the car underneath. Boro!

I have a Solara Eibach/Tokico with TRD body kit all around.

I still manage to lay back and slide up under my car, and the a regular black plastic oil pan slides right under, just nudging the plastic thing, but it still gets in there with basically no prob.

As for most oil comming out, man, I dunno. put a jack at the rear of the car? i dunno

I have changed oil on a bunch of toyota without raising the car. Being on the skinny side helps. I can slide under most cars and reach the drain. Having a shorter wider pan helps too. But like the other guys said, a lowered car is a little more challenging. I have done a couple of times.

One other way is to just drive one side of the car on the curb. That works well, and you can lay in the gutter.

how the hell can you fitt under the car without jacking it up????

good god you must be skinny....

and to get the oil out faster, you can run the engine for about 15-30 seconds w/ the drain plug open and it'll also let more of the oil out from the cylinders too

just don't run it for too long...

Yeah, I am pretty skinny, and my arms are long enough to reach under the car further, so oil changes without raising the car is pretty easy for me.

I always change the oil when it's warm. I got myself a set of Rhino Ramps from Pep Boys for $20. It's easier than jackstands. All you do is drive the car up and you're good to go. I have trouble getting to the oil filter if the front end is too high so I just put it in neutral and let it off the ramps.
