Rims/Tires & Strut Bar

So probably by the end of summer I'll need some new tires as the ones I have are not even all the same brand (this is a used car and the previous owner was probably a car rental company) and are all crap anyway.
I'm definitely going to get new ones...but since I'll never have such an opportunity like this for some time, should I go ahead and get rims along with them? Do rims do anything particularly positive for the car other than look nice?

I have a strut bar...should I not bother trying to install it myself given that my only tools on hand are a wrench and a ratchet set? The bolts don't seem to be too keen on coming loose.

Rims I selected based on flipping through a few pics and prices:

Sport Edition Fox 5:
Size Selected: 15x6.5
Price: $105 each
Estimated Availability: In Stock
Recommended Tire Size: 205/65-15
Wheel Offset: +40mm

Additional Specs

Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Finish Warranty: 2 Years
Country of Origin: Italy
Construction Type: 1pc. Gravity Cast

well if ya get big enough rims they do provide more resistance to roll and more grip due to wider tread and the availabily higher performance tyres. but i reckon its mainly to look good.

if you get light weight rims than it'll also be better than your stock rims.
