Those who have mesh grilles, please read

Hi there! I know I know, you're probably currently bitching in your head about the fact I should "SEARCH" for previous mesh grill posts, and trust me I have, but none answered to my question clearly.

I'm looking forward to making myself a mesh grill for my gen3 ('92)camry.. I have read many DIYs, checked the stock grill over and over and I'm figuring how I'm gonna pose the gutter guard grill I'll buy at Home Depot. Only thing is I also wanna place some mesh in the lower bumper area, where people have their fog lights.. Only thing is I can't find any way to make it hold up in there, mostly for the lower part...

Any tips? What do you use (zap straps, tie wraps, glue, ...??)

Thanks in advance!
-Dave

hmm for you and whoever else answers "Glue", what type of glue did you use, and how exactly did you set your things up to make it hold solidly in place?

The circled areas are where there were predrilled holes going up. I was gonna use those holes to mount fog lights, but decided that cars without them look cleaner, but thats me. I dont know if a gen 3 would have them or not vs a gen 3.5, go check.

You could always make your own holes...

Yeah I know that, and there are those holes inside the upper part of the bumper opening.. Problem is I can't find anywhere to attach zap straps in the lower part.. so the lower part of the mesh can hold in place...

o ok, well i did it and had the same problem, but after i put the top straps on, it held pretty well and i didnt even have to do the bottom! haha, so that worked out well. but i guess if you wanted, you could strap em to the vertical slits. not sure if a gen 3 has em, i do.

What about 3M double-sided tape?

Less of a pain in the ass to work with than Bondo and less mess than caulk. Also no holes to drill. Just stick and go! That's my plan

You can use 3M to help you position the mesh, but it's not going to hold it permenantly. Heat and water proof. Use it with quick dry epoxy for plastics

3m double sided to hold it...then go get some clear caulk for siding or somethin related to plastic / fiberglass and stick it on there

just use some of that epoxy stuff JB weld.. it works well.. just becareful when you mix it so it doesnt get in the grill.. there are holes under the bottom vent in the middle.. just get some wire or something to tie the grill to and use the epox for the vents on the left and right thats what i did...i used the gutter gaurds from home depot too
