My friend (pulsedriver) recently replaced his oil filter on his VW Passat with this ridiculous deisel oil filter. It is huge. The oil filter on the camry is tiny. I was wondering if anyone knows of a oil filter that will fit the gen 4.5 camry 1MZ-FE? Thanx
Oh and to piss some of you off, I didn't even search, I just asumed no one else has ever asked this question. Hahahahahahaahh!
Uhh.... there's is no point. If you want more oil, buy a larger oil cooler. Otherwise a larger oil filter is pretty useless.

i dont really understand why you would bother, makes no difference at all to our cars if they are pretty much standard, if you turboed it or something then maybe you need to change it (to say a TRD item) to keep the oil temps down and flow rates high.
oh and UfoZ8myCow... after venting all your years of frustration, i hope you feel better now!
Originally posted by UfoZ8myCow yeah... i dont think that would be very useful. an oil filter relocation kit, on the other hand, would probably be useful for me on my car, since its in a really bad position where every time you take it off it spills oil and shit all over the block and you have no choice because thats the only way to take it off and it just makes a big mess and then you have to wedge your hand in there and fuck up a towel trying to wipe the oil off and then burn your hand because you touch the manifold on accident then your hand gets stuck because its too small of a space and you wish someone else would just change your damn oil for you. Whew.
its a vee-six? i do this for a living its not so bad when you can lift it up a little bit and you have the right kind of filter wrench
if its the 4 - quit whining and get a rag (brake wash works wonders, just dont hit the hot manifold)
oh- and the v8 filter ( i know the last two letters for the v6 filter are D1 and for the 8 are D3) will fit for the v6 too in case you were wondering. its just longer.
the supra turbo oil filters are the same... but you dont need a different filter. stop whining, the oil filter that is on there is fine. just change your oil a lot and you will be fine.
i ended up using a fram ph3600 it's twice the size so i end up needing an extra quart of oil the filter is easier to reach and i don't get burned as for the oil mess put the new filter on then spry degreaser around that area and hose it down.

bingo.
Apparently Toyota uses the same size and pitch as for the Ford V6 blocks. That is a very common filter and is used on Tauruses among others. I'll be trying a PH3600 (but NOT a FRAM!) for my next OC
thank you but it was laying around iand i figured it was the right one to use next time i'll get a bosch or a k&n since they have the wrench part on it
I don't see why everyone here wants to appear to be the smartest person? Is your ego and self esteem that small and low, that you must point out what you think is the right point of view, the point was a diesel engines oil filter.
