filter these nuts!

I just called my local toyota dealer to buy an oil filter for my 3,000 mile maintenance, and I was quoted a price of $12.00 for an oil filter (2000 4cyl Camry). About a year ago, when I was retarded, I paid that price and was quite happy but now that I'm a bit more knowledgable and have TN as such a great resource, I am somewhat skeptical about the price. I'm seeing filters for as low as 3 bucks for acuras and other cars, so I would like to know HOW IN THE FLOCK OF GEESE can one oil filter cost 12 bucks?

Is this ass rape without lube (and not even a nice dinner and a movie first), or is this an appropriate price? If not, where can I get one at a decent price?

Please help, my ass is already beginning to hurt.

Wow, I pay $12 for a Mobil 1 oil filter, but for OEM? That seems a bit high, $6 or so would be more acceptable.

I pay around $5 for a Toyota oil filter at my local dealership.

Don't know why your dealership is charging so much for them.
