About a year ago my brother broke my driver side rear door. He pulled the door handle from the inside while my aunt pulled the handle from the outside. Something snapped inside the door panel and now you cant open the door at all. Earlier today i was messing around with it and got the door to open, by unscrewing the handle and puting it in a different position and pulling the handle. Now it opens but what i need to know now is how the hell do i get the dooe panel off? I need to fix what ever snapped. Any online tutorials on how to do it or anyone got a great write up? Its a 1989 toyota camry. thanks guys.
well... look under the handle for screws, theres probably one in the window crank, and that should be it, everything else should probably snap on and off, after u get all visible screws off, try lifing up on it, ive never worked on an 89 b4, but ill see if i can check out my friends tercel, i had an 84 Dodge omni, and thats how it worked... it might have these little bitchey snappy things, that snap into the door itself, dont lose them if it does, and dont rip them out of the panel cuz you wont be able to get it on right...
there's the window crank.. you need to take that off.. there's like 3 screws around the arm rest area under lil panels.... then just work from one corner to another and it'll all pop off don't use too much force they'r held on by lil plastic things try to pop it straight out rather than at an angle

There should be a screw right in the middle, or a lil cap over hte screw, just take the cap off, and remove the screw, and it should come right off. if u can get a pic of the door panel and post it
Thanks, ill try to get a pic.
Stealth, i live in hudson MA actually, but good guess. Hudson has a lot of portuguese people too but nothing compared to the new bedford area. Are you portuguese?
my window crank looks like it has a cover over the screw, but the vover is a bigcover that goes the length of the crank, not just covering the screw. Ive tried to get the cover off but it seems impossible. How the hell do i get this window crank off??? Its driving me insane!!
there's no screw for the window crank.. there's a 'c' clip behind it try removing it with a lil cloth that's how i did it anyways let me try to get you a pic ... crap i can't sorry... just push in the door panel a lil bit and you'll see the clip i'm talking about

No, I was going to UMASS Dartmouth, and Dartmouth is right next to New Bedford so thats why I knew there was a large Portugese population there.
