Update:Seats, GearKnob, Swaybar(not 56K friendly)

Its been ages since i've done any update, so this should be enough

Mods done: Celica ST185 Seats, Trust/Grex Gearknob, Whiteline Sway Bar, MX5 seats
This is my an interior shot before I did anything:

I was given these MX5 Seats (older style MX5 seats) from my friend but I had to take them out as they didn’t slide forward enough for my sister to drive. The install wasn’t that great either as u can tell, I’d hate to kick the mounting bar at the back

These are a pair of ST185 Seats that I picked up for $250AUD. In my opinion, they are great in for OEM seats. They may not have lumber and kidney support, however for my frame and size, I’m held in the seat very nicely around high speed corners. The colour scheme also allows for a discrete look.

This is the view when i drive, its a bit lower than stock (abt 5cm?) but not enough to have a negative effect.

Some of you have also asked to how I installed them, I’ve put the pics as links to be nice to the 56K users. These are for the drivers side(right side), it’s the same for the left side. And we’re using the celica rails

This bolt required me to cut some mild steel which we welded onto the stock rail
Back Left Bolt

This bolt hole was left unmodified
Back Right Bolt

To bolt the rails for the front, we made a cut into the rails right before the stop spike (the lil lump that prevents ur seat sliding all the way forward). We then removed the spike and welded the cut off pieces under the rails. This made the final fitting easy, and a slight OEM look was retained. The spike usually goes into a hole but I think the bolts should be fine.

I recently bought this for about $50AUD, its just for looks and feel, nothing special. I’ve been told that in summer it gets hot so I leave my stock one in the car I’ll also redo the boot in black leather after my exams, the rubber one looks nasty

I bought this amp late last year and its beautiful. Power rating is 85WRMS, all I need now are new speakers all round cos this amp makes the imperfections of my current ones known

This is the strut brace that smt_007 organised as a group buy for us guys down under…and yes my engine doesn’t look very nice, and the pod needs a cover, which shall be done after exams

Last but not least was a whiteline rear sway bar, which my sis bought as a bday pressie. Cost her $190AUD all up I think. By far this is one of the best things I’ve done to the car. I just love taking corners now and paired with the seats, I don’t feel myself sliding around either.

anyway that’s all, sorry for the long post and thanks 56K’ers for ur patience.

I’ll have another update in a month or so

Cheers
Huy
