well what is the kit supposed to be made out of? if you know that then u have a place to start. fiberglass has one feel to it and urethane has a totally different feel to it... from what i can tell fiberglass should be slightly flexible, but still kind of hard like a plastic, but i'm not totally sure cuz i try to only deal with urethane kits....
^ I'd take plastic over fibreglass.....at least it can kinda bend if you scrape a curb or something unlike w/ fiberglass where you'd just rip a chunk out of it....
I think that fiberglass is okay for side skirts, but for the front and back it's not the best idea in the world....

you kinda dont want fibreglass for a bodykit at all, problem is its not very flexible. for a bumper itll jus crack if you scrape your car coming out of a driveway, for sideskirts itll eventually fail as it doesnt twist with the chassis when goin around corners and stuff. id like there to be a FRP kit for a camry, thatll be nice.
Dude, fiberglass should NEVER feel rough. If you put paint over it, then it's gonna look shitty.
How much did you pay for it? If you told me under $400, then it's one of the "crappy" ones. Trust me. I've sold the "Crappy" ones when I worked at a performance shop and they would come back with complaints and such saying that it didn't fit right, cracked, or the paint didn't go on it right. I told them that they wanted to pay that much, that's what they get. I would try to sell them the higher quality ones first, then if they said that is too expensive, then I would go to the shitty ones.

Yep, his factory one should be urethane as well. I've curbed my TRD kit before (don't ask).... with the weight of the front left side of the car on my side skirt, it actually bent my fender upwards but there was no damage to the skirt itself.
If you have a choice (and the money) always always go for urethane.
Fiberglass Sucks I've had my Body Kit on my car since December and I already have stress cracks starting to appear in my Back Bumper. My front bumper is the Rod Millen Front Lip and that thing kicks ass It's urethane and can take a lot of abuse
