I wanna lower my car, but I dont wanna pay $150 - $200 US for lowering springs. I have a 1995 Toyota Camry V6 LE. I've heard of cuttin springs, I don't know the effects of it and if it ruins the car. I was talking to one of my neighbours and he said if I do cut the springs, I could make them too short and then the struts will become too short? He also said I would have to re-align it? I just wanted to ask the "Pros" for their advice. If I did cut the springs but maybe just like one loop on each spring, would it be messed?
Anyway, I would really appreciate some help?
Or, if ne one in the GTA has lowering springs for my 1995 Toyota camry and want to sell, please contact me at Ashan@rogers.com
Thanks

Well, my understanding was if you do anything to your suspension, get your car re-aligned... but regardless, please DO NOT cut your springs unless you want to totally demolish your stock struts and be bouncing all over the road. Your car will definitely not ride very well if you just chop off a couple of coils, and you can kiss any handling you had goodbye. Basically, cutting springs is the ghetto way of lowering your car with no real performance increase while making your ride totally bouncy and ridiculous looking

Oh, and one loop/coil probably wouldn't be all that bad... but be sure, if you do cut your springs, have it done right. Honestly, you're really just better off with new springs, but I understand the whole money situation

Don't cut the springs. The ride on your car will be horrible, plus if you cut it you might not make them all even.

For more information do a search on the forums.

Cutting your springs is not a bad idea but if you have doubts I wouldn't do it.The stock coils on the camry have more enginering, research, and development than the drop coils, plus the drop coils are probably made for the V6 and wouldn't give the same amount as the I4.If your only looking for an inch I wouldn't cut a full coil, you can always take but you can't add back.I hoped this helped.I diffenantly would get an alighnment any time you drop anything.

I cut my eibach spring...the ride is stiff and a little bit bouncy, but it looks good so I don't care...I'm lowering the car for looks only..not really into performance....if you are into performance I wouldn't suggest you cut your spring............
hope this helps

When you lower your car to a point if you don't get dropped shocks your ride quality goes downhill bad.I don't know if you got eibach lowering coils and cut them more,if you did you wouldn't beleive the differnce in ride quality with the drop shocks!
