The hardest part about any paint job, pro or ameteur is colour matching. I'm assuming you went to a chain store and just took a can of the closest colour right? Which is okay, but keep in mind the colour will NEVER match. If you accept that, the next step is painting technique. Prep the area thoroughly and apply numerous thin coats as evenly as possibly.
Maybe Silver Streak (or anybody else) our resident DIY'er can add to this  Seriously though, his projects turned out pretty nice

When you say it looks like AAASS, what does that mean?

It's pretty hard to match the factory paint, especially since you're painting right over it. I painted my front grill, mudguards, bottom sides, and spoiler and it doesn't look too bad at all...only because they are separate pieces (actually, the spoiler is starting to look like...well..ass.)

For a professional look, go to a professional...but of course, you're not going to do that. Sand the area, prime it if possible. Now, put on 2 or 3 light coats...now take the finest grit sandpaper you got (preferably the black wet kinds) and sand it until it matches the car. Put on another coat and sand again. I find that this is the best way to match your paint. Of course, after, put on a clear coat of paint and it should look somewhat decent.

well i did it today i got rid of all the rust, which is really cool, but the paint seems really dull, if u look at it in the right angle u can see where i touched it up

How can i bring the shine into that paint like the rest of my car?
