goddamnit! some kids ruined my car /w sandpaper!!!
so i walk out one morning and notice some sandpaper lying on the ground by my drivers side door. i didn't think anything of it. then this morning i noticed an ass-load of scratches all over the car. roof, hood, trunk. im pretty pissed off.
anyways, the scratches aren't too deep so i was wondering if i could buff them or polish them out. if so, what kind of polish should i use?
I don't know, but I think you might have pissed someone off that didn't like you in the first place. Who would just go and buy sandpaper and then scratch your car? Why not just use some rocks or something, or a tree branch, etc. Seems like someone put some care into your scratches man.
Chances are, they will not catch the culprits, but you never know.
If the little jerks have done this to other people too, they may be eventually caught, and then they will be responsible for anything that you have to do to fix it.
They sell full kits at Auto Zone and other places that walk you through it (and incluyde everything you need). You go through wet sanding and then buffing them out. You can have it look like new. (God "Trucks" is a helpful TV show).
I doubt they can be buffed right out at this point. But if it is only to the clear coat, you should be able to. Polishing compound and a good electric buffer should do it then.

You still have the sand paper bits, call the pd and have them see if they can get som prints off this...and tell them its a recurring prob. If they do catch someone, they migh not be in a position to pimn that dude for all the scratches (or occurances)...but for a few....
Talk to a body shop...for all you know a little wet sanding and then polish, buff is all you need.
well, i used some turtle polish and it turned out alright. you can still see the scratches if you look hard enough but if you aren't looking for them then it looks fine.
