I have a carbon fiber custom shifter, and today one of the screws fell off and it went inside the shaft. How the hell to I take that screw out? The shifter is stuck, so I cant shift out of Parking.
see that little platic tab in front of the "P"? Pop off that cover with a screwdriver. There's a button hiding under there that let's you unlock your shifter in cases like this.

ive had times when i i have to improvise and rigg, and make tools out on the field for my job try straightening a coathanger put a drop of super glue on it and put it down on the screw, let dry for a few secs and it should come right out this will work for keyes breaking off in locks also
There are 4 bolts holding the base down. You have to remove all teh trim pieces around it though. Pain in the ass but you don't have much choice. More pics here;
try one of those magnetic thingy's you use to get like nuts or bolts that fall in the engine bay and you can't get your hands through.....I dunno what the hell it's called but it stretches out like a antenna....I hope this help
