Question MAF question...

I have a question for all you guru's out there... what would happen if the MAF is bad on a car? Can this casue hesitation under heavy acceleration? just a simple simple question.

If it were sending incorrect signals to your ECU, the there is a good chance it could cause problems with the overall preformance of the engine. I'm not sure if it would directly effect heavy accel, but it will cause your engine to act up.

What exactly is wrong with your car that you suspect the MAF?

Well once I was driving down the highway and when I came to a complete stop i felt the car miss fire...Basically after that I didn't know until I took my car to the shop and my check engine light came on. They did the test results and came up with these codes.....

P0305
P0100
P0110
P0440
P0300

Upon reading the codes..It stated that one my cylinders was miss firing...cylinder 5 to be exact....I check the spark plugs wires (Magnecor wiresets) and spark plugs (NGK stock). One of the codes said the MAF was malfunctioning and also the TPS was also malfunctioning...I drive a 1997 V6 Camry. I dunno the car seems to hesitate under heavy acceleration everytime and plus my engine light blinks for a small breif moment and then remains on....Thanks! btw I have 123k miles on it

it was my first time reoiling my k&n replacement air filter in my 2003 camry..you don't know how much to use at first...i didn't over oil...i think i could have sprayed a 5 or 6 more shots of oil...

i heard if the filter is too wet the oil can get sucked up...

so far...2 months after oiling the filter and i don't seem to have any problems.

auto or standard. when the tps is off...the computer has a hard time reading the load on the engine. does it happen between gears. air moves faster then gas so if it doesnt know the load what will happen is the air will go in and give you an lean condition in the motor...causing it to shutter...as for at an idle...im not sure. i would say just buy a tps and try it...if it doesnt work you can always return it.
