Question ECT Power

sup TN people,
ok ok, now i know this is probably a very ridiculous noob question, but i just gotta be sure and ask to find out. On most Toyota's....my Gen 3, my uncle's 2002 Tacoma, aunt's 2002 Highlander, there's this little "power" button next to the shifter. I believe it is only found on automatic tranny cars.

well, the question is, what does this "power" button do? using logic, since it it next to the shifter, and ECT....it can possibly stand for Electronic Controlled Transmission....i'm assuming the power button gives your Camry an extra boost of power by delaying the shift to a higher RPM? since more power is found around the 4.5k to 5k RPM range? ....i think i'm right...but....IS IT right?
Thanks in advance

yea bsically its supposed to shift later in the rpm band, its supposed to down shift when you stomp on the gas, and i think one or two other things. i always used to have it on but with these gas prices i turned that off and drive like grandpa. except for tonite. getting to 90 seemed faster with the button off.
