HID Projector Retrofit

Here's a HID Projector Retrofit performed by Illusion-Lighting. I didn't have the time and effort to do it, so I let them handle it. Well, enjoy the pictures.

Props to the cleared lens But I have some comments though...

The lens looks really wavy... Any beam pattern pics? I remember I had to spend many hours to get the lens flat when I cleared my headlights -- The waviness actually distorts the light cutoff.

Why didn't Illusionlighting cleared the entire headlight lens though? It looks awkward when only one portion is cleared, and the transition between the clear and the textured surface is really noticeable.

Yes, they cleared out the lenses for me and everything. They are Hella projectors with Mitsubishi ballasts and their custom-made relay and cosmetic trim. The whole project cost $750 plus $100 for clearing out the lenses. I first thought about asking HIDTech to handle this project; however, after reading so many negative posts on HIDforum.com, I switched to Illusion-Lighting. These guys were very nice, easy to deal with, very helpful and responded to all my emails. I'm very happy and satisfied with the results. I'll never switch back to halogen anymore.

Tony the Tiger, I will try to take some beam pattern pics tonight. Well, when I was parked in front of a wall, the beam pattern actually looked pretty good and clean.

Actually, I asked them to email you for your help. According to them, this was the clearest they could get; it had come to a stopping point where the lenses could not get any clearer.

I do not understand why they didn't clear out the whole lens either. Well, I know the transition is obvious, but it doesn't look that bad. So I'm ok with it and sort of like it.

850 usd orcdn? that seems a bit pricey. and i would have made them clear the whole lens for that but hey it looks good.

Didn't clear them all out because the fluted/frosted portion serves a purpose for the high beams. If they were completedly cleared, you would have a spot light for the highs.
