I have a gen 4.5 so it's a little different but I did this and love it.

When I had just the tint strip (somewhere around 35% or so):

I recently got a black vinyl sunstrip put on:

I wouldn't go back.... With the vinyl sunstrip your eyes tend to focus on it for the first few days because it's just weird (like watching a letterbox movie) but it goes away and it feels natural. I don't even use my sunvisors anymore.

I don't like how the strip looks, if you can just get the whole windshield tinted.

just got that visor strip on today at the tint shop. i went limo black and im pretty satisfied with how it looks and the functionality of it looks black on the outside but is opaque on the inside, the guy finished it in 10 min and charged me 16 bucks with a lifetime warranty like the rest of my tint

That's a good price. Average price for a tint strip is 20-25. How far down did he go? My vinyl is twice as far down as the AS1 line is... the tint was to the line .
