Question Toyota Camry 1999

Hello!

I have a problem with my car Toyota Camry 1999. The car shuts off when i'm driving at any speed, either 80 mp/h or 20 mp/h. The car usually shuts off immediately no warning or anything. I do not know much about cars, but this problem is dangerous and can cost my life someday if i keep driving the car. The problem occurs whenever it wants at any point, just started the car or have been driving for 1-2 hours, you never know. After the car is shut down, i can turn the car on normally again like any other time. The car shuts off almost everyday. I send the car to Pep Boys for general maintenance and repairs, they charged me 500$ but the problem still persists. They told me they could not find the problem and there was nothing they could do to help me further. If this is not enough information please tell me, i will try to do my best describe what is needed. Thank You!

Does it run fine when it does this or does it just immediately quit?

If it does it immediately its probably a spark related issue. Check all grounds that you can find.

Pep Boys is a joke. Never take your car there.

What, exactly, did Pep Boys replace for $500?

Check the ignition coil for cracks. There's been a rash of this sort of problem here on TN lately (engine dieing after running a while), and it's usually been a bad coil. So that's the first thing that leaps to my mind.

may be unrelated, as i dont know what your tie down looks like, but i've had issues with 2 celicas where, the tie down gets loose or crapped out and will actually contact the battery and will randomly shut the car off all the time
