Newbie to Toyotas and This Forum

Hey there. I just bought a '90 Camry LE. This is my first Japanese car, and my first non-sports car. It has the 2.0L 4-banger w/ an automatic Yeah, I know, but waddyagonnado, ah? Anyways, I would like to amplify the car's power a little bit. I would like to know a website where I can shop for ECU's and intakes, or if those are even an option I can do on this car. I'm not intereseted in 4 inch wide exhausts, so don't even bother, please. I don't want to mod the hell outta the car, either, I just a couple of upgrades so that getting onto the expressway isn't so gottdammed embarrassing!
EDIT: Also, if anyone knows what the engine code for my powerplant is, that'd be great...

Anyways, TIA, people. Peace, J

Here's her pic, her name's Betsy:

Nice clean car, and welcome.

But this should be posted in the Me/Mine/Mods section.

Anyways, you'll learn a lot here...I've been here for a short time and I've learned quite a few things.

Welcome to TN!

your car is a gen2 camry with a 3S-FE. Mods wise general bolt on parts are CAI/ShortRam/K&N panel, Extractors (RippMods or Genie..pacesetter are available but arent that great)...you can redo the exahust with say a 2.25" system and jsut put on a big resonator if your not into something loud...and if you dont need a 4" tip...even say dual tips would be fine...

the ECU isnt tuneable, well to my knowledge...what you can do is buy and aftermarket ECU but i doubt that would do much as there wouldnt be much for it to build upon..

other things you may do if you have more money is an engine swap :
3SGE : NA motor from mr2(aus-spec,jdm), celicas
3SGTE: MR2 Turbo, Celica GT4, and caldina's i think

or u can turbo the 3sfe and make it a 3sfte...

have a search on the forum and you should find some ideas..

cheers and enjoy the camry

Yeah, it's kinda funny, I was thinking of upgrading them, but then I said, "Nah, they'e alloys and old skool." I got mad luv for old skoolers. Besides, there's so much customization out there that it's almost more custom to have original alloys!
