You need to go to an alignment shop and find out what your camber is first.

You can also do a search on this subject it's already been discussed a dozen times.

On that note: does anyone know how low you can go before you start needing a camber kit for a gen3?

if you have Coilovers...thats the only time you will need your camber done up...but if you just buy springs you are fine

A camber kit is always helpful. Most of the time the alignment shop can align the car without one. They are good for auto-x

according to TRD you can go 1.25 inches lower on the camry before you change the suspension geometry.

it seems that the consensus around tn is that in order to avoid camber wear, all a camry needs is a good, proper alignment. my question though, is if once the camry is lowered and the camber is correct, will alignments be needed more frequently to maintain the proper camber angle? and since i have a v6 (heavier up front), how will this contribute to the whole camber issue (if at all)...

since you'r in baldwin park goto discount tires and get lifetime alignment for 200$. and you can just come back every year or whatever and get it aligned again for free. just don't come back once every month or they'll void your contract.

I thought a camber kit would be a good idea but the truth of the matter is that I never needed it. I had my alignment checked and it was only 1 degree off and that was with a 2" drop. I opted not to go with it and had my alignment done with one of those state of the art alignment machines at Firestone (used lasers). All is good.

you can have a 4" drop and still get it aligned properly without a cambe kit.. the only problem is, most shops wont take a 2nd look because youll be low...

they dont deserve your business if they dont even try :P

can anyone post pictures of your camber kits installed, both passenger/driver? i know its just a bolt but it should look a little different from the stock bolt right? i have one on my passenger side that looks very different than stock, but the driver side looks like it just has two stock bolts. if they only gave me half a camber kit, i am going back there to bitch them out. i am also due for an alignment so if they screwed me im gonna guilt them into giving me a free one.
