why the hell would you do that to a camry?

so, as i posted in ot awhile ago, i work as a valet. today, i saw the ugliest camry i think i've ever seen. it was a black gen 5 with a rag top and some ugly ass grill. is that even an option from toyota? why would you pay for that as an aftermarket piece. makes me wish i had a camera phone to capture the ugliness for the good of tn.

yeah, it was definately a four door gen 5 rag top, not a solara. ugly as sin. they had also put a toyota logo on the c pillar on the outside. damn that was ugly.

does anyone know if a rag top is a factory option? i'm guessing it's not, but who the hell would do that to a camry???

Three words:

Gulf States Toyota.

These guys are known far and wide for making all sorts of disgusting aftermarket changes to Camrys before they hit the dealerships in their territory.

Hahaha.

I already have a plan. Next time I go to the supermarket or something, I'll take a shopping cart and scratch one of the chrome flares real bad and just tell my dad it happened at the supermarket and that I'm going to take them out because they are fucked up.

hahaha good plan. you think like me. I'm going to use that idea for my rims. but i just haven't figured out how. I dont wanna run over pot holes.

Anyways... here in chicago i've seen about 3 gen3 camry's with that rag top. At first i thought it was a drop top but a closer look it was just the top. My friend has a rag top on his 02 Altima, it looks decent black on black rag top. I guess it kind of depends on the color. like silver and black rag top is wrong.

i see mainly the gen4s doing it down here. but a gen5? damn that's wierd. it actually looks somewhat like it goes with the gen4's cuz of the car's roof shape. but no. gen5 = bad.

For that matter, I might as well just take them off and paint the spots that they were at.
