new o/d relocation question

ok i found many toggle switches at radioshack with different A125/etc ratings and such. does it matter which one i pick up?

i searched and never found this in the threads.

get a push button one and mount it in the area under your radio.that way no one else will notice it.or put it in that spot between the shifter and the center storage box.

Get a sub-miniature or miniature toggle switch. Radio Shack has them.

You need one with 3 prongs, spdt (single pole double throw).

A push button switch (momentary switch won't work).

I went to Fry's today and picked up some switches for a project that I'm doing on my computer. So I figured I'd also rewire the o/d switch on my car.

Heres some pics:

The switch is a miniature spdt (single pole double throw) switch.

Wiring it up is simple. You use the center prong and one of the outer prongs on the switch.

^ I believe thats a momentary contact switch. I've seen them at Radio Shack. Check the packaging and see what it says.

If it is a momentary contact switch, it won't work.
