engine light just came on

my engine light just came on i don't know why due to the fact that my wife was driving it and she just told me the thing is what could be some of the reasons?
the car isn't misfiring and there is no smoke, she idles fine,accelerates fine shifts perfect didn't over heat,oil pump is pumping 20psi alternator is putting out 14.3volts, all hoses are tight and no leaks, oil is still clean fuel filer has been changed. any input would be greatly appritiated.

i have a 1mzfe with 6coilpacks jpf throttle body.

one of the common engine light on is o2 sensor going bad,
have you check if the gas cap is tighten? or that doesn't applied to your model?

never mind it was a bulb that i switched that made the ecu see a problem...thank god

how do you check if an O2 sensor is bad?

the computer would tell you by turning on the check engine light, you then have to go to a garage and have the code checked (or check it yourself if you own an obd II code reader)
