I like your grill too. If finacnes permit, consider polishing the rest of your engine bay parts to match.

What did you do you paint the battery cover and stuff red? My high temp paint and primer wouldn't stick even after I cleaned the parts off with soap and water.

I don't know what else I can polish...do you think I can polish the header??

For the engine parts, you need to sand them before painting, just use some smooth sandpaper like 600 grit, sand until the surface is dull, and clean them throughly before painting....

Nice job, Madison. I'm diggin the valve cover! Was it a DIY, and if so, please post details.

I wouldn't recommend polishing the headers cuz they're not really headers. Under the heat sheild, the exhaust manifold looks like mangled steel. Best to keep it hidden under the heat shield.

Yes the polished valve cover was DIY....it took me like 3 hours sanding them until smooth....

Here's step by step instruction if you wanna try:
1. Clean the valve cover throughly with simple green and old toothbrush
2. Sand it smooth with various grit sandpaper (I started with 240, then moves to 400, 600, 1000, and 1500)
3. It should be pretty shiny now, scrub it with fine grit steel wool, then polish with metal polish, and you're done...admire it and take some pics

If you have a dremel tool you should be able to finish this job much much faster....I don't have it so I polished it manually....
Just let me know if you have further question
