by competent you mean toyota or a good tranny shop ... depends on how much people they have manual or auto???? auto you will have to leave it over night unless there is no other people there and you drop it off in the moring and there open late and not much work to be done... manual can be done a lil quicker but still might have to leave it over night ... i have a felling when i go to get mine fixed it's going to be there for a few days

Trannys can take a while.

A full rebuild can take a week or more at a shop. Depending on how busy they are. Transmissions are a lot of work. And aren't easy to do. They can take a while to do.
