just installed my rear bar yesterday. It was fun and greasy. I used Luc's teflon tape idea and thick white lithium grease, so it shouldn't squeak. man, it took me forever and a day to get the old bar out. getting the new one woven in there was much easier for some strange reason, even though it is thicker and heavier! my arms are freaking sore today. I'm not your expert DIY guy anyway.
I was so freaked out when I lowered one side off the jackstand when I was done coz the wheel gap was still 4 inches. I thought I installed it upside down, as I heard someone else had done once. After thinking about it and looking at pics I had taken earlier, I don't think you can actually install it upside down...my brain was just fried from being in the sun all day. Of course, the bar is so stiff, it held the lowered side up because the otherside was still on the jackstand. I was in awe!
ok, enough ramblings. thanks for reading. I'm installing the front bar next week...hopefully I can weave it out. Looks like the power steering is the biggest obstacle.
