Gas guage slow to move to Full

Got a used 99 Camry LE (4 cyl). When I fill it up, it takes a while (about 3 minutes or so) for the gas guage to register to the Full mark. Is this normal on the Camry?

its very normal i assume your comparing your camry to some of the newer cars. My girlfriend's Lancer instantly moves up, the catch is that when the car is off the gauge just drops. I assume they are using newer technology for the gas gauges. I wonder if its the same with gen5's.

Hey buddy be happy that your gauge is correct. Minds is crazy i can be at full when i hop in the car drive for 2-3 miles and i'll be at half. I never know how much gas i really have. the gauge tells me one story but i dont believe it.

I have a gen 5 2003 camry. The fuel needle goes up to the fuel level straight away after turning the key to ACC or the engine on. The fuel is still shown for 10 mins after leaving car and the needle goes down after.

my 1990 toyota hiace takes a while for the fuel needle to go up from empty, but the needle stays where it is when the engine is off.

you think the needle should move according to the fuel level but why does it take so long if the fuel is measured by a float? weird delay ah well

my parents old gen 3, their new gen 5, and my solara all take a while for the needle to move completely to full after filling them up. its cause of a system called 'last known level' or somthin like that, basically it just tells you how much gas is in the tank without the car being on. i read that in one of the catalogs at a toyota dealership waitin for my car to be serviced

my dads caravan on the other hand moves up right away, but when you turn the key off the needle drops as well

My '95 takes a few minutes to register...I am glad it's normal-sometimes I secretly wondered if mine was the only one to do that...

My 01 will go to full rather quickly.. but it sits just barely below the F. A few minutes later it goes up past the F barely. I'd say it's normal for Camrys.

My work truck I drive '97 W/T 1500 from empty to full... BOOM.. jumps fast as hell!
