center tailpiece

I want to black out my center tailpiece, except for the reverse lights. I've heard of using vinyl...how well does that work? should i use vinyl or paint it, and if i should paint it, what kind of paint & primer?

Well, if you want to paint it, I would go to a body shop and buy the paint from them. All the stuff you see in shops is usually pretty cheap. Primer, any will work.

But if you paint it yourself, it won't have a gloss coat. So in order to have it look really nice, is to pay a body shop to paint it. Unless you have a painting setup in your garage...
